Project iDesign consists of students creating graphic memories using web technology. This graphic memory has the purpose of self-reflecting on the difficulties that each Technological Engineering student has or is facing with discrimination of any kind. It can also illustrate the process that each student is going through to overcome difficulties in hih/her personal and professional development.
To complete the activity, the student must read the book Citizen: An American Lyric and choose a chapter from the book that he/she feels has happened to his/her as well. When the student has chosen the chapter, the student has to mention why he/she identifies with the chapter and what positive way he/she would do to reduce this part of discrimination in society. The student will graphically present the chapter by designing a web page using basic HTML and CSS techniques.
The purposes of this project are:
- Self-reflect of the difficulties that each Engineering Technology student has or is facing with discrimination: gender, age, racial, social, economic, or physical appearance.
- Self-analyze the process that each student is doing to overcome discrimination, of any kind, and make a positive change for a different society.
